Petits Cadeaux Dollhouse Miniatures

The miniature books are created from hand-made wooden blocks from a VT supplier, which I then hand-paint, and decorate to look like various literature favorites (like Madeleine and King Arthur.) I follow the one-inch-to-one-foot 'miniaturization' rule, which is illustrated by the penny comparison. The sweet treats are my signature "bouche de Noel" (yule log,) the first ever Petits Cadeaux miniature I created for sale when I was 14. The inspiration came from my Waldorf school French teacher, Mme Reed, who baked us a real bouche de Noel for French class. I sold the miniature versions at the Waldorf craft fair in 8th grade to raise money for our trip to Hungary in the spring, and Petits Cadeaux was born! The cherry cheesecake, another Petits Cadeaux signature item and customer favorite, is topped with miniature 'cherries' of polymer clay that are HAND ROLLED, not beads, which are individually placed on the 'cake' before baking.
